  1. Hi Aaron,
You are welcome to create a Myfxbook and/or add your demo account to your existing Myfxbook account. Shoot me an email and I will send you your MT4 passwords.

  3. Hey guys,

Thanks for getting the modified forum up-and-running and your continued effort with it. I have a list of demands remaining… Haha!

So could we get myFXbook access to our demo and live accounts as well? Their metrics are excellent, invaluable and I’ve used the service for my individual, independent accounts. Scot said he’s able to access those metrics via myFXbook.com for all the firm’s accounts, which is pretty cool and I figure could only help all of us.

  5. Management,

How do we delete entire posts? Methinks the forum layout is still pretty basic and fairly easy to use, but a user-guide could be helpful here.

A request for just an open space for users to post their thoughts or perspectives unconstrained to a predefined topic, if possible.

    Thanks!

  7. Dear Management,

I believe it’d be helpful to modify the new forum to uploading charts, screenshots, images and the like. “A picture’s worth a thousand words.”

    Thanks,
    Aaron

  9. Hey Melisa,

If you would please submit a request for essential “membership rules,” such as what pertains to ethical conduct amongst the participants in the forum. Forex Factory has a few that may be helpful for reference sake @ http://www.forexfactory.com/userguide.php#rule3

    Thanks,
    Aaron

  11. That is exciting to hear Melisa! I think just some general topic areas would be great. a Pull Back Buy and Pull Back Sell and Consolidation Breakout sections where people could post screen shots of trades they made. Along with some writing of their thoughts on the trade. This way everyone could learn at a quicker pace by seeing good trades, and bad trades if people would be willing to put them out there.

    Just a thought.

  13. Alright, then the first suggestion I’d have is probably the most obvious one for revising the forum layout, which would be to have topics, threads or modules for each of the subjects that are already part of our training – in no particular order – FX Strategies/Psychology/Money Management etc..

I think the Trading Room would be an interesting one to have as well for review and a more inclusive take that allows us to vigorously adapt and share our perspectives. So that’s a start with more (specific) suggestions to come.

Albeit to get one off I’d like to have a forum section for those still in training (on demo) and one for those trading a live account. (I suggest a read-only feature be applied for those still in training that would prevent them from posting in the live trading forum, but allow them to view and read it.)

Another quick suggestion would be to put suggested topics to a vote or a poll for what to add/subtract from the forum in general.

    Thanks,
    Aaron

  15. Aaron,

The forum will be changing within the next week or so. You’re welcome to suggest topics at any time.

    Thanks.

  17. You’re welcome, Melisa.

When do y’all plan to introduce the topics in the forum? Also, may topics be suggested at any time or just prior to [the new forum] release?

    Thanks,
    Aaron

  19. Hi Aaron,

Thanks for the feedback. We are actually in the process of placing topics in the forum.
If there are any suggestions in regards to topics, etc. be sure to let us know. Thanks.

  21. Hi nick… Thanks for the welcome and congratulations for the strides you’ve made so far in your training! Believe it or not, I can tell that it’s really starting to click for you. And I, too, have a goal of going live by February 1st.

Given the simplistic format of this forum (in terms of its layout on the website) I’m afraid any questions or comments I have will remain generalized, which is probably for the best. Nevertheless I did put in a request for an indexed forum that consists of basic trading topics for more focused discussion and sharing. I can see it both ways, the pros and cons of such a proposal, so we’ll see.

Glad we’re a team, but I’m sure, unique in how we perceive the market. This is our edge! Hedge funds thrive on individuals with diverse views who are willing to share relevant information. This will come in time, so I’m with you in using this forum (crude as it is) towards the communication needed for our firm (whose actually the client) to profit and grow in the long run.

Thus I encourage everyone to use the tools, forum and each other here for the benefit of everyone towards consistent profits and greater opportunities. As you said, post your questions, suggestions and comments. If you’re just starting, have fun and be patient with yourself. Most people miss the value in just bouncing around and enjoying the process like a child in a playground. I did and it took time for me to appreciate that this is a business, but now working is an opportunity for me to reach my lifelong goals rather than a hindrance.

You’ll retain what you need if you let yourself enjoy it. More experienced traders such as myself, Scot and others are like guardians as you learn and grow. We can even learn something from you in that wildness! You’ll eventually come into your own. We have a lot to learn as it is no matter how experienced.

Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. Lets do it!

  23. Hey Ken, the ATM has been pretty bad the last few days. The MT4 just got updated, we discussed it in class this morning as a lot of people were having problems with it. Scot said he would get the programmers on it. Hopefully over the next few days and by next week, everything will be back to normal.

Hi Aaron, welcome. I am not yet trading live, but I am hoping to be by the end of the month or start of February. It had been terrific and have learned a lot, and still do each class. I have been working/learning this stuff since I think June. My confidence has really sky rocketed the last 2 months, and everything is starting to make sense now. Post your thoughts or comments as you go along. I myself am personally going to try and start using this Forum more.

  25. Has anyone had issues with the ATM dropping orders?

  27. Hello all,

My name is Aaron and just joined the firm. I’ve been trading the FX market going on five years now as an independent trader, but needed more capital to employ and get ahead, plus an atmosphere that challenges me to grow more as a trader. So I’m glad to be here and look forward to advancing a.s.a.p..

Is anyone already trading live with the firm who’d care to share their experience?

    Thank you!

  29. Hello all my name is Bob and i just started the training. I went nuts with the classes and watched all of them from Fri afternoon to Sun eve. I admit it was a bit of an over kill and didn’t retain too much, but it gave me a great overview of the course and was excitted about the material. Now i’m looking forward to taking my time and mastering the skills they teach. Good luck to you all

  31. Hey, is it slow, or is the watch list just not offering any suggestions tonight?

  32. TonyNorman on July 10th, 2011
  33. isn’t the 1st and 2nd grade entry the same set up. if you look at both patterns, are they both reversal patterns containing a lower swing low (1)… then a higher swing high(2)… followed by a higher swing low(3)from point (1). the only difference is getting in at a better profitable level.

  35. I am in the houston area (central time) I often trade during the 9pm to 1am time frame. I have not noticed any difference in spreads – I typically dont even consider them. its not worth getting in or out of the trade unless its over 7 pips. I am mainly looking at the larger time frames that might be setting up for the next morning/day.

  36. Glenn Topfer on June 24th, 2011
  37. I trade 9pm to 1 am Pac. time on a regular. I have noticed plenty of activity during these hours, but I never remember to notice the spreads…being new, I am still blown away when I remember to recognize the set ups for the higher percentage trades.

  38. TonyNorman on June 24th, 2011
  39. Has anyone found any good h1, h4, or daily trades this morning. As of 900 central time I am hunting the AUD/USD and that is all I have found as yet. Otherwise, doing the sitting on the hands trade. LOL

  40. TonyNorman on June 24th, 2011
  41. I have noticed that also. Has anyone actively traded the hours 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Pacific Time? Roger said that was active because it is the Australia/London market overlap time. Have you noticed smaller spreads on bid and ask prices?

  42. bobwilkes on June 23rd, 2011
  43. since moving to the new broker (FXCM) has anyone else noticed a lot emails/advertising/promos from them hitting your email address.

  45. comment on portable device… I have not found a reliable source yet. I have a blackberry that I used in the past but it did not work out. I was told that it has to be configured a certain way-dont know for sure.

  46. Glenn Topfer on June 22nd, 2011
  47. Hey, is anyone using a portable device….smartphone etc…that is working with MT4. I am an over the road truck driver and would enjoy checking my trades without having to pull over and fire up the computer.

  48. TonyNorman on June 21st, 2011
  49. I am also willing and able to help when and where I can. just dont ask about how to journal. Getting the journaling done is more difficult and more frustrating than the trading. I can be reached at **********@gmail.com for any Q & A. I am usually on-line during early morning and evenings due to my job. I am in the Houston area/central time zone.
    thks, keep at it. Glenn.

  53. Hey out there! I’m learning as fast as I can. And while I don’t know much, I’m willing to help our learning if you have anything you wish to share or discuss. My email address is *******@gmail.com. I use this address exclusively for PTFX business, so I monitor it several times a day. This trading is fun!
